About Us

Minneapolis Home Inspections, LLC was founded by Matt Butcher. Since starting Minneapolis Home Inspections, LLC in 2003, Matt has quickly created a name for himself as one of the premier home inspectors in the Twin Cities. Matt currently works with private home buyers and sellers, financial institutions such as Wells Fargo, and governmental agencies such as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Before starting Minneapolis Home Inspections, LLC, Matt worked with some of the premier home builders and developers in the nation while with Georgia-Pacific Corporation at their headquarters in Denver, Colorado. This experience helped Matt to gain a better understanding of the new materials available, new construction practices, and common pitfalls many homebuilders fall victim to.

Matt graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Wood and Paper Science from the College of Natural Resources and a Marketing Degree from the Carlson School of Management. This education has given him a broad background covering many areas important to the inspection industry such as structural engineering, mold and fungi detection, and advanced residential construction practices.
